Dopo Raphael Viera de Oliveria e Dragan Travica colpo grosso in casa JumpIn81m2 questa settimana... noi ce l'abbiamo messa tutta per farvi sentire l'opinione di tutte le squadre che prenderanno parte alla Final4 di Champions League questa settimana, e bussando alla porta dello Zenit Kazan siamo riusciti a scambiare due parole con una delle pedine portanti della squadra, nonchè della nazionale russa... diamo il benvenuto ad ALEXEY VERBOV!
Non stiamo nemmeno a scrivere il suo palmares altrimenti ci serve un papiro, ricordiamoci solo che è fresco vincitore della medaglia d'oro agli Europei 2013. La sua ultima ed unica vittoria in Champions risale a ben 10 anni fa, quindi immaginiamo che il libero russo sia proprio affamato e determinato...
Come affrontate la Final4 quest'anno dopo la cocente delusione della passata stagione? Cosa ne pensi delle 4 finaliste?
Non pensiamo più all'anno scorso, siamo concentrati sull'occasione che avremo adesso. Le 4 finaliste sono le squadre più forti della competizione quindi il finale sarà interessante. Non mi piace pronosticare la favorita, poichè il risultato dipende da molti fattori (la condizione dei giocatori chiave, lo stato di forma del momento) ma spero che a vincere sia una squadra russa.
Ti facciamo la stessa domanda che abbiamo posto a Travica: che ne pensi del Belgorod? Ormai vi conscete a memoria, visto che avete giocato contro diverse volte.
Il Belgorod al momento è la squadra più forte in Russia, ci hanno già sconfitto 3 volte quest'anno. Comunque questa partita è molto più importante e sarà una vera battaglia.
Travica non ci è cascato, ma... Facciamo un gioco: togli un giocatore ad ognuna delle altre 3 finaliste e magari spiegaci perché.
Muserskij è l'uomo chiave in qualsiasi squadra giochi, idem Osmany. E la forza della squadra polacca è proprio il loro essere squadra. Hai mai avuto delle offerte da qualche società italiana? Ti piacerebbe giocare nel nostro campionato?
Ho saputo che alcuni club vogliono incontrarmi e a me piacerebbe giocare in Italia, è sempre interessante fare nuove esperienze, conoscere gente nuova, vedere nuovi posti...e poi mi piace tanto il cibo italiano! Al momento ho un ottimo contratto nel mio paese e non sarebbe molto intelligente voler già cambiare le cose.
La pallavolo italiana sta vivendo momenti molto difficili a causa della crisi e della mancanza di investimenti, com'è la situazione in Russia? Vista da fuori, non sembra esserci mancanza di risorse e denaro, o no?
Anche in Russia molti club hanno problemi con gli sponsor, ci sono solo 5 o 6 squadre con un budget saldo. Sono tempi economicamente difficili dovunque, non solo in Italia.
Qual è la squadra più forte che hai incontrato nella tua carriera? E il giocatore più forte?
Non posso scegliere la squadra o il giocatore più forte, ne ho incontrati troppi nella mia carriera. Spero che i ricordi migliori per me debbano ancora venire, nel futuro.
Quali sono i ricordi più belli e più brutti della tua fantastica carriera?
Ho avuto molte delusioni, momenti in cui una sola palla distrugge mesi di duro lavoro. Ma cerco di dimenticarmene, anche se non è facile.
In Settembre ci saranno i Mondiali in Polonia, quali sono i paesi favoriti secondo te? Pensi che verrai convocato?
Prima di tutto voglio finire la stagione con lo Zenit poi si vedrà... Le squadre favorite sono le solite: Russia, Brasile, Italia, Polonia, Serbia, Bulgaria e non dimentichiamo alcune sorprese come USA, Francia, Germania e Argentina.

We did our best to make you hear the opinion of every team that is going to take part to Champions League Final4 this week, e knocking to Zenit Kazan's door we managed to chat a little bit with one of the most important pawn of the team, as well as of the National Team... let's welcome ALEXEY VERBOV!
We won't write his prize record down because it'd take too long, it's enough to say that recently he won the golden medal at Euro Championship 2013. His last and only victory in Champions Leaguedates back to 10 years ago, so we imagine he is really hungry and determined...
- How are you dealing with this final4 after the bitter delusion of last year? And what is your opinion about the 4 finalists? We've already forgot about last year and are focused on this chance. All 4 finalist are the best teams in their championships,so we expect an interesting tournament. I don't like to choose favorites. I think the results depend of many factors (condition of key players, physical condition at this moment and many other things), but I hope that one of the Russian teams will be the winner
- We ask you the same thing we asked to Travica: what do you think about Belgorod? By now you know each other by heart, as you played together more than once this season. Belgorod at this moment is the best team in Russia, we've lost to them 3 times already this season. However, this match is much more important and we want to give them a real fight.
- Let's play a game: you can take a player away from each team, who do you choose and why? Muserski is the key player of all team where he play. Osmany is the same person. And for me the strength of the polish team, is their whole team.
- Have you ever had any offer from Italian teams? Would you like to play in our league?
I heard that some teams want to see me and I want to play in Italy too, because it's interesting for me to get new experience, to meet new people, to see new cities and I like Italian food a lot. At this moment I have a very good contract in my home country and it's not clever for me to change something yet.
- Italian volleyball is facing very difficult moments because of the crisis and the lack of investments, how is the situation in Russia? From outside it seems that Russia doesn't have lack of investments and money, does it?
Also in Russia a lot of teams have problems with sponsors, there are only 5-6 teams with a steady budget. There are difficult financial times everywhere now, not just in Italy.
- What is the strongest team you've faced during your career? And the strongest player?
I can't chose the best team or player, because there are too many throughout my career. I hope that the best memory for me is still in the future
- During your great career, what is the best memory or the best victory and instead what is the worst one? I had many disappointing moments in my career, moments when just one ball ended many months of hard work. I try to delete these from my memory, but it's very difficult to do sometimes.
- In September there will be the World Championship in Poland, which are the favourite national teams in your opinion? Do you think you will take part to it? First, I want to finish the season with Zenit and after we'll see. Favorites are the same: Russia, Brazil, Italy, Poland, Serbia, Bulgaria and many surprise teams like: USA, France, Germany and Argentina.
